PFTrack Documentation Installation and Setup

Network Configuration

Host ID  |  Proxy servers

In order to access any online functionality such as online licensing, message notifications or in-app user support (for Enterprise and Studio users), The PFTrack application must communicate with The Pixel Farm's servers over the following ports:

DestinationPort
https://services-thepixelfarm.uk443

If you need to use any of this functionality, please ensure access to these servers is allowed by your network configuration.

PFTrack Solo users will also need to connect to https://pfsolo.thepixelfarm.co.uk via a web browser for login and purchasing.

Host ID

The host ID is a security key that is used to uniquely identify your computer hardware and is required to license PFTrack to your computer. It is derived from your network interface, and must remain fixed to ensure uninterrupted use of the software.

If you are using a Wifi address as your primary network interface, make sure this is configured to provide a static address. This will ensure your license is always available to use each time you restart your computer.

On Apple platforms, this can be achieved by setting the Private Wi-Fi address system network setting to Fixed.

Proxy servers

If a proxy server is being used, PFTrack will attempt to use the system proxy settings for any network communication.

On Linux, the http_proxy and/or https_proxy environment variables may be used to specify the location of the proxy server. Please check your system documentation for further information.
